STAIR tutors work to increase the student's self-worth and self-esteem while increasing their reading skills. Each STAIR student receives twice a week one-on-one reading tutoring after school from the same STAIR-trained adult tutor from October through May. Over 140 tutors work with teachers and parents to provide a warm and caring environment for each student. The STAIR program has graduated over 300 Anne Arundel County 2nd graders over the last 12 years.
